The stainless steel 10 mm (~0.4") series is meant for use in smaller applications. Its static load carrying capacity is more than 250 kg per spherolinder, which is a good working point for "desktop applications". The hardened 440C ball bearing steel is ideal for repeatable assembly applications and cyclic hertzian stress, provides resistance to incidental surface damage, and shows practically no surface wear.

In Aluminum, the 10 mm series can carry about 50 kg per Spherolinder, and is useful for non-magnetic applications. Lifetime is shorter, with gradual sufrace marking starting to show after several tens of assemblies.
