The Three Bead Mount (TBM) is a low-cost kinematic mount with a load carrying capacity that is still sufficient for most optical designs. The TBM series is designed to mount on a standard optical plate grid, and can be used to mount optical sub-assemblies onto an optical table in a repeatable and stress-free manner.

TBM comes in three flavors - Light, Medium, and Heavy duty (LD, MD, HD). LD is designed for static horizontal mounts at room environment, and the recommended maximum load for it is 100 kg per mount point. MD is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 200C, and the recommended maximum load for it is 250 kg per mount point. If using a central retainer, it can also operate in a static tip-tilt environment. HD is an all-steel product that can take 500 kg per mount point and is suitable for dynamic load enviroments.

All load ratings are subject to to the load capacity of your optical table - some honeycomb-based tables will be damaged by localized heavy loads, and so a load-distributing footing plate is highly recommended.
